Willie Mays, Frank Robinson, Tom Seaver, Johnny Bench, Cal Ripken Jr., Jeff Bagwell… Joe Namath, Franco Harris, Earl Campbell, Ben Roethlisberger… Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robinson, Jerry Lucas, Larry Bird, Ralph Sampson, Michael Jordan, the Shaq… Memorable names, remarkable accomplishments: What accolade distinguishes them from their peers?
Each attained the honor—Rookie of the Year. Entering the realm of being paid to do what you love conveys great reward, yet demands hours of practicing in obscurity and hard work… Achieving this type of benchmark with the number one brokerage in Houston, TX, is worth celebrating. Indeed, Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors® has led all meaningful market benchmarks for the past year: A year where selling real estate was not a great career choice—a year where many decided it was time to quit. Yet over the past year, PruGGR has gained 18 points of total sold market share in the most competitive market-place in the US, according to the Houston Association of Realtors® and the Brookings Institute. Additionally, PruGGR was ranked number 9 among Prudential Brokerages nationwide last year and number 50 by Realtor Magazine® (the only Houston Brokerage in the top100). In other words, being awarded Rookie of the Year for Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors® at this point in time, is like being named Rookie of the Year for: - The 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers (Robinson)-- It has required singular focus on the game at hand, ignoring constant negative national press and the whispers of those who predicted imminent failure;
- The 1969 Jets (Namath-named Rookie of the Year in 1965)—boldly beating entrenched competition on their home turf;
- Or the 1959-1960 Philadelphia Warriors (Chamberlain)—joining a team full of tested veterans and rising to the top by leveraging the experience, knowledge, and talent that encompasses the Champions office and PruGGR at-large in Harris County.
This is an honor second only to being: fused to my one and only love; born into a family that demonstrated grass-roots entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity; and experiencing my children embrace God’s plan for their lives. My gratitude to those who have mentored, encouraged, and inspired me along the way knows no bounds.
